Inspiration for the painting came from one old Copenhagen building across the street from the gallery. Wall decoration of swans—simple, but elegant.
I wanted to achieve an ethereal and dreamy atmosphere at the same time to emphasise the beauty of swans. Therefore used soft acrylic wash technique to allow the colours gently blend together while keeping linear simplicity. The repeating pattern of swans gave the rhythm and flow in the painting.
With the subtle layer of glitter over the crowns and veils added a touch of magic.
